Scrapy - online shop of company databases.

The main purpose is to provide up-to-date information about companies in various industries for business purposes: marketing, development of partner relations, expansion of client base and expansion of partner base.

I originally set out to create a company database specifically for the sales team at INFOLine, a news and analysis agency specialising in market research and analysis. At the time, I realised that there were no high quality industry databases available on the Internet that could meet our needs.

So I decided to create the first database myself. The first database was of food manufacturers and suppliers in Kazakhstan. The results were good – we made 2 sales after making calls on the database. My colleagues liked the database, and soon I started preparing similar databases for other departments in different industries.

What started as an internal solution quickly gained momentum. We decided to publish the databases on our company website, and to our surprise, people started buying them. Customers even started requesting customised databases tailored to their unique requirements.

I made the decision to develop this initiative into a standalone data product. Thus, Scrapy was born – a platform designed to provide businesses with accurate industry data to drive growth and success.
