There’s a lot of people here. I think we should get to know each other.
Greetings 👋🏻 (In Russian here – https://t.me/racefediakov)
My name is Kirill Fedyakov, I’m 23 years old and I’ve spent the last five years in entrepreneurship.
My main project is scrapydata.com.
An online shop of company databases. The aim of the project is to provide up-to-date information about companies in various industries in order to expand my client base.
From the age of 15 I started 3D modelling, first in Blender, and then I took courses in 3D Max. At 17 I worked as a souvenir seller at the harbour and that same summer I found my first serious client – a wooden furniture studio that needed renderings to show potential customers.
At the age of 18, I opened a sole proprietorship and started a delivery point in my father’s office. The office, which had previously had an exit to the street, was sitting idle. I demolished the office and the facade, applied for and that’s how I launched my first Pick Up Point.
By the time I was 19, I had expanded it to a multi-brand Pick Up Point, attracted more than six partners (Ozone, VB, YandexMarket, Boxbury, DPD, etc.) and tried to open a full-field centre. Found the first two clients in a week on Avito. We worked for a month on good word of mouth, but it didn’t work out further, competitors had cheaper and better, and I had small volumes.
At the age of 20, after a conversation with my mum in the kitchen, I came up with the idea of opening a business renting children’s goods. I chose the goods and immediately put an advert on Avito. I found the first clients in a couple of days and went to buy the goods for the client. It was an electric rocking chair for a baby. Then connected to the work of a classmate and a friend and launched a full-fledged work in St. Petersburg. Also the role of warehouse and receipt of goods performed my Pick Up Point.
At the age of 21, I successfully sold the Pick Up Point for 1.1 million roubles as a ready-made business and invested in my own project to rent children’s goods in Moscow and Dubai. After 1.5 years of work in Moscow we stole goods for 700 thousand rubles, in St. Petersburg – for 50 thousand rubles. Taking into account the experience of 2 years of work, I developed a normal business model with all the risks and insurances and decided not to continue with the business.
At the age of 23, I joined my father’s business at INFOLine, an information and analytical agency, and began to develop the Central Asia business. I launched an IT business – an online shop of company databases, which was originally created for internal use, but has now become an independent project.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Technologies (Cisco) and continue my master’s studies at the Higher School of Economics in the direction of Analytics in Business (MAB).
This post was created to share experiences and ideas that come along the way.
